About our school

We are a friendly one-form entry primary school with our own nursery, situated on a large site in a peaceful corner of the Hallwood Park Estate in Runcorn.

Our overall vision for the school is to provide all of the children with a stimulating, safe and happy environment in which to learn and to reach their potential. We want the children in our care to be confident learners so that by the time they leave us, they are ready to get the most out of their secondary education and to ultimately pursue whatever jobs and careers they wish for. A local high school has commented on how “well-rounded” the children from Hallwood Park are, on transition to secondary school, which reflects the range of curriculum opportunities we give our pupils. Children get the best start to their time in school when staff and parents work closely together, and this is what we always aim for.

The school was built in 1972 and has light, spacious classrooms which open out onto the playgrounds. The school is very fortunate to have a large field for sports and a garden area where the children can grow flowers, fruit and vegetables. In addition, we have our own woodland area and large pond, which provides the children with a rich variety of outdoor learning opportunities. We are well-resourced with ICT equipment and have a kitchen area where classes can do cookery activities. We aim to provide the children with a broad, enjoyable curriculum and we give the children as many opportunities as possible to go on educational visits and to take part in community events.

Our Nursery is currently open every morning during the week and is run by our Foundation Unit Teacher and support staff. It has large indoor classroom areas and has a dedicated outdoor learning area which is shared between our Nursery and Reception class.  We believe that children who join our Nursery get the very best start to their education, which can then be continued as they progress through the school.
