Welcome to Early Years Foundation Stage 

 

Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage at Hallwood Park. Our EYFS is made up of two nurturing and engaging classes designed to support children as they take their first steps into education.

Owls Class – Nursery (3–4) and Reception

Owls Class caters for our older Nursery children and Reception pupils. The space is designed to inspire curiosity and independence, offering a wide range of high-quality learning experiences across both the indoor environment and our extensive outdoor provision.

Ducklings Class – Nursery (2–3)

Ducklings Class is specially designed for our youngest learners. Children enjoy their own dedicated courtyard and calm, age-appropriate environment, while still having opportunities to join Owls for shared play and social interaction. This helps them build confidence and familiarity across the EYFS.

Our friendly and supportive team is always available for families. Whether you need advice, reassurance or simply want to share a milestone, you can speak to us at drop off or pick up, or send a message through Seesaw at any time.

Smooth transitions are a key part of our approach. Because children spend time in shared spaces and play alongside different age groups, they move through the EYFS with confidence and ease, already familiar with the staff and routines ahead of them.

Sessions & Funding

Owls Class (3–4 Year Olds & Reception)

• 15-hour and 30-hour funded places available

• Additional hours may be topped up at £5 per hour

• Full day: 8:45am – 3:15pm

Ducklings Class (2–3 Year Olds)

• Morning sessions only

• Children with 15-hour funding may attend daily (Monday–Friday)

• Unfunded places: £5 per hour or £15 per morning session

• Session time: 8:45am – 11:45am
