This half term will be a very busy one here in Robins class with our hardworking Year 5 children.
We have lots of exciting learning planned and the children are already producing some excellent work.
Our Autumn 1 overview is as follows:
We have started our P.S.H.E. learning by discussing the importance of a positive attitude. The children have decided what they think is important in order to be successful. As you can see below, Year 5 are definitely starting to embrace the qualities needed for a growth mindset:
Homework and new reading books are given out each Friday afternoon.
Homework needs to be returned on Mondays.
Books need to be returned in folder (with signed homework diary) when completed.
In Year 5, children should be reading every day. A child reading the higher stage Oxford Reading Tree books could read a chapter each day and would then be changing their book fortnightly.
Our P.E. sessions usually take place each Monday and Wednesday. We recommend that children bring their P.E. kit in on a Monday and keep it in school until Friday.
